Joe Morales, Art/Graphic Editor

My name is Joe Morales and I am 17 years old and a senior at James Bowie High School. I am a Art/Graphic Editor for the Dispatch. I plan on attending some sort of art school for tech theater, design, photography or something combining all of the above. My main focus for this year of high school is to grow my portfolio as well as my skills as an artist. Alongside newspaper, I am a Starlight Theater Company (STC) officer and a Technical Education & Development (TED) liaison. As far as theater productions I am a lighting and projections designer/operator. In my first year of newspaper and working at the Dispatch, I plan to create interesting and functional infographics  for the paper. I look forward to applying to colleges and gathering my work for my portfolios this fall.

The record-breaking shutdown occurred when Congress refused to pass legislation that included over $5 billion for a border wall demanded by President Donald Trump.
