Hello! My name is Carey Wooley, I am a senior and this is my third year on staff and I will be the News editor. I love being a member of the Dispatch and have so much fun being on staff and getting to calibrate with my peers. I am a part of the Orchestra program at Bowie and play the violin. I love collecting house plants and vinyl records. I love music specifically, Harry Styles,Mac Miller, and Fleetwood Mac! I am so excited for this year on staff and to be able to write some more stories this year!

SPEAKING OUT: Leaders and members of the labor union, Education Austin, left many voicemails for the AISD school board to listen to at an emergency meeting that discussed the actions of TEA. Every time the board played a message that included a member of the union, Education Austin constituents stood for the duration of the playback.

Shortly after election day on Nov. 8, interim superintendent Dr. Anthony Mays announced he was leaving AISD for a permanent superintendent position at Alief ISD. Shortly after, the AISD board of trustees announced they would be accepting applications for a new interim superintendent, and announced that finalist on Dec. 15.
