Senior Goodbye: Shelby Papst

Shelby Papst, News Editor

Even after four years I don’t like saying goodbye, never have and never will. So I’m not going to say goodbye, I’m going to say thank you instead. I want to thank Mr. Reeves for making me feel pride in myself. Thank you for all the conventions, the crazy playlists, and for taking me to the Gucci store in Chicago. I’m proud to tell my grandfather that you were my teacher. I’m gonna miss you. I want to thank Mr. Humphrey for believing in me over and over again and giving me a chance. The musicals the last few years weren’t just the students’ show, it was your show too, our show. Don’t forget you are part of the team, even though you abandoned Tech 3/4. Your 8th period Tech 3/4 class last year was my favorite class I’ve ever had, elementary through high school. There aren’t as many times I’ve cried as hard as I did the last day I had that class. I knew how much I’d miss it and I still do. I want to thank Mrs. Cornwell for making me feel accomplished and checking in on me. All the times you ignored me calling your name I know were out of love. I want to thank Mrs. Herbert for always showing me love. I want to thank Mr. Dennis for having a class that could make me smile on the worst days. I want to thank Ms. Hall for making sure I knew I had a friend in her. I want to thank Mrs. Stiles for always smiling and baring with my endless and obvious questions. I want to thank my friends for showing me what it was like to have real friends. I want to thank my friends for having my back even when I’m a prideful moron. I want to thank my friends for making me laugh. And overall, I want to say thanks for the memories.
