On Tuesday April 23 the JBHS Choir representeded Austin and Bulldog Nation with three beautifully sung performances in the American Classic “Celebration of Choral Excellence” Competition in Houston, TX. This elite contest put us up against some of the best choir programs in the State of Texas, here are the results:

• The Bowie Concert Chorale won fourth place in the most competitive mixed choir division! A division which always nominates next year’s State Honor Choir.

• The Concert Chorale women won second place in the very competitive treble choir division!

• All three choirs received clean sweep superior ratings from all three judges!

This is the first time Bowie competed in a contest like this, the COE is a different choir competition. This contest is the closest thing to bands of America in the choir world, so this is an enormous accomplishment.
