With an exciting end to the season with a win against Del Valle high school the Bowie Bulldogs JV boys basketball season has come to an end, although their record of 7-6 wasn’t the greatest they really had an opportunity to grow and improve as a team. As most of the team being sophomores many have shown their potential future spot on varsity.

After starting their season with a rough record of 0-4 the Bulldogs fought back and finished with a winning record overall. They were playing great towards the end of the season leading them to finish with a winning record in district play.

The team has grown in both skill and friendship during the course of the season, with this season it has given the players on JV an experience of high school basketball getting them ready to play on varsity level high school basketball.

Star player Masson Wassaburger played a big part in our success this season. He has helped to lead the team to a victory over rival schools Lake Travis and Westlake. In the last seven games in the season Mason has scored ten plus points. Mason has a promising future in Bowie basketball.

Juniors Trey Alanzo and Ellis Tall being the only Juniors on the jv team have impacted the team this season with their leadership, teaching them hard work and dedication throughout the course of the season. Alanzo and Tall also contributed to the team’s success this season.

With the varsity team losing six seniors there will be some players on JV that have proven themself ready for Varsity level basketball next season with hard work and dedication on and off the court.

With Varsity losing to Del Valley and missing the playoffs the team is now on/off on getting a chance to put in work in the weight room getting ready for next season. The Bulldogs are putting in the work even off the court to come back stronger than ever next season.

Next year the JV team is looking to get some promising players from the freshman team such as Max Filderman, who had a great season as a freshman who is looking promising for the JV team next year. Everyone at Bowie is very excited to see how JV will perform next season with the addition of many new freshmen and the return of some sophomores.
