The new Mandalorian season

Donna Kim, Reporter

With the recent airing of the second season of the Mandolorian, many Star Wars fans have not been disappointed with what has come so far, especially those fans who have watched the Clone Wars. We have already seen so many amazing characters from other Star Wars shows, such as Bo Katan from the Clone Wars, Ashoka Tano from the Clone Wars, and Boba Fett from the original Star Wars Trilogy. Here is a little recap on what has happened so far in the show, and what is to come.

So far, episodes one to six have been very thrilling, especially as someone who loves the Clone Wars. The appearance of Bo Katan, Death Watch, Boba Fett, and Ashoka Tano have been making me love the show even more. Though I was nervous to see how live action Ashoka would turn out, I think Dave Filoni did an amazing job portraying her. Mentions of the dark saber have also been very promising, as I predict that it will come into play in the future with Moff Gideon using it a lot more. There have also been so many small references to the original Star Wars trilogy, such as Anakin Skywalker. These small mentions have been so big to me, as it makes me love the show even more. We also learn that the child has a name, that being Grogu. I think that Grogu is the cutest name ever for the child, and it suits him so much. We also learn that Grogu survived Order 66 while training at the Jedi Temple, and we can assume that one of the jedis hid him away during the tragic event. In the most recent episode (episode 6), a huge event has taken place. After sitting on the giant stone and using the force to contact another jedi, Grogu gets captured by Moff Gideon, and the Razor Crest gets blown up. We can only assume that the Mandolorian, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and Cara Dune team up to get back Grogu, and a new jedi will be joining them on the mission.

The most recent episode to have aired, episode seven, has been one of my favorites so far, probably only because the Mandolorian showed his face more. (Pedro Pascal, one of my all time favorite actors.) With the help of Mayfeld, a character from season one, the Mandolorian must infiltrate an Imperial Remnant base and get the coordinates of Moff Gideon to get back Grogu. I liked how in this episode, we really got to know Mayfeld better, and what his morals and thoughts on all the wars started by the Empire. In the end, Cara Dune and the Mando decide to let Mayfeld go, and not take him back to his prison.

Overall, season two of the Mandalorian has been amazing. All of the characters from the Clone Wars coming into play, and seeing old characters from season one has made the season very promising. I cannot wait for what is to come in the later episodes.
