Cyberdawgs get competitive

Kaitlyn Zellner, Online Editor In Chief

The Cyberdawgs competed this Saturday in the Cyberpatriots round one competition.  Cyberpatriots tasks students with finding and fixing vulnerabilities in operating systems.  Students learn multiple operating systems, networking, and security in order to compete with other high schools and organizations.  Needless to say, there is a lot to learn.

Even though the team was just established, and only 3 of 6 members were able to compete this weekend, the team earned a preliminary score of 226 out of 300 points.  This is quite a feat given the time restrictions and newness of the team.  If you see the following students, please give them a high five or congratulations for their efforts this weekend:

Ethan Menell – 9th
Ethan Smith – 9th
Mang Nilian – 9th

Round 2 happens November 15-17
