Senior Goodbye: Rachel Baschnagel

Rachel Baschnagel, Copy Editor

My past four years here have shaped me as a person more than any other in my life. There’s been adventures, tears, smiles, pain, and countless laughs with the countless friends i’ve made. Some of my best friends have been with me since the sixth grade at #GMS and I truly couldn’t imagine going through high school without them (@Tres too). I love you guys, your support and friendship means the world to me. You make me feel special and appreciated, and I return those feeling to all of you. Camden, the love and confidence you’ve given me in the past six months is absolutely incredible.

Even more so, I wouldn’t have been able to get here without my wonderful parents. To my mom, my rock, my best friend, who has always been there for me and always will be- I love you and thank you so much. I can’t stress that enough; you and dad have done more for me than anyone else will ever come close to and you made me the person I am today. I’m your little look alike inside and out. There’s no one who understands me quite like you.

To my dad, Pops, the strongest man in my life, your cheesy jokes and quick smiles taught me to be as happy as I can, and I wouldn’t be me without all the you that shows through. My jokes may be cheesy, but they’re funny as hell and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Keep up the bad jokes when I’m away at school, even if mom doesn’t think they’re quite as hilarious as I do ;).

Lastly, the staff at Bowie have done more for me than I ever expected. Mr. Laney made my best class freshman year, and the good times I had in there have stayed with me even through my senior year. Ms. Dellana – you were the best adviser I ever had. You pushed me, helped me, and celebrated my success. My Bowie home freshman and sophomore years was in the yearbook room and the laughs I had in there made those two years for me. You convinced me that I could make it in a career I actually loved, and because of you, I’ll be studying journalism next year. Thank you to you and my yearbook staff. Mr. Reeves – thank you for saving my senior year. Copy editing is exactly what I love, and it was a blessing to have a home at Bowie again. Thanks for taking me in and giving me a job. As rough as it’s been, I’m gonna miss Bowie and all my memories at and through the school. I’m especially gonna miss all my friends and family. Please come visit me (and someone bring Tres)!! I love y’all so much <3
