Piano students prevail at UIL
March 25, 2019
Bowie students sat at the huge, shining black instrument that coaxing impossibly soothing and amazing melodies from it during the region 18 UIL Solo and Ensemble contest this past weekend.
Different instruments and different music pieces are assigned to various students.
“I played Musette in G major long with Musette,” piano student Axel Zano said.
The different pieces are played in different keys which makes each song unique.
“I played the piano and the song was called Prelude no.4 in E minor by Chopin,” piano student Lucas Pedrozo said.
Many of the piano students felt accomplished by their work at the Region 18 UIL.
“I felt accomplished by getting a 1 on my performance, which is the best score,” Pedrozo said.
