The Red Cross Club is an organization that anyone can join as a Bowie Bulldog.
The Red Cross Club sponsors and runs at least one blood drive every year, do various safety and health-oriented activities throughout the year to raise awareness and increase student response.
The Red Cross Club is a fun thing to be a part of and experience new things.
The club donated blood to the blood drive and volunteers at events that benefit the red cross.
“I joined the cross club so I could be a part of something that helped other people and to be part of the blood drive,” ninth grade member Jennifer Trevino said. “I am most excited about becoming CPR certified”
They attend school events and other events outside of school.
“Red Cross club attends the blood drive, club day, and other club-oriented activities,” Club leader Erin Kowalik said.
The club does a bunch of different things and participates in a lot of activities.
“I work with various adult agencies– We Are Blood, Red Cross, and Bowie bookkeeping in order to make sure that the activities the club is involved in have the necessary approvals to move forward,” Kowalik said
The club meets on certain days of the week and attends events.
The Red Cross club meets on Wednesdays but hasn’t had a meeting yet this year.
The Red Cross Club is a group that meets to help support the red cross.
“The donate blood to help people who need it. They also get certified for CPR so they can help save someone’s life if the time comes. They also learn about health and help raise awareness for the red cross,” Treviño said. “They participate in a lot of events that are health-related and do a bunch of fun stuff to support the red cross.”
The cross club is an opportunity to experience something new.
“As a member, you get to donate your own blood and learn how to save someone’s life. Also, you get to experience what the red cross does to help people on the daily,” Ninth- grade member Leela Mckenna said.
“ The club is a new chance to meet new people who have a similar interest as you. “[It’s] also a chance to be part of something that can help others.”
