Best seller author, Tillie Walden, visits Bowie

Tillie Walden is an Austin, Texas-born Illustrator who visited James Bowie High School last Thursday, she is a best seller author who captures the message of her work through sentimental stories. Bowie students listen to Tillie Walden as she visits our high school in hopes of inspiring the high school students with her illustrations, graphic novels, and the story of her life.

Tille Walden visited James Bowie High School last Thursday, October 4th, in the library. Tillie Walden is a cartoonist and illustrator from Austin, TX who graduated from the Center of Cartoon Studies.

Tillie Walden has a best seller book named Spinning, which works to capture one coming of age and coming to terms with leaving behind the past. Tillie Walden uses relatable and sentimental stories that appeal to the readers all while incorporating her art skills.

Tillie Walden grew up writing comics, her first comic was a black-and-white comic about never knowing her grandmother. Walden was discovered when she was in High school by British publisher Avery Hill, who worked with Walden to publish her first graphic novel.
