The James Bowie Choral Department just finished the Region 18 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Choir Contest. The event last two days and five Bowie ensembles competed.

All five ensembles won the Sweepstakes award for receiving superior ratings in concert and sight-reading. This marks the first time the women’s freshman choir has revived Sweepstakes in their category. This also marks the first time Bowie has won five Sweepstakes in one year.

Bowie was the only school in the Region 18 contest to be awarded with 5 Sweepstakes we also got the most awards of any school competing this year. Bowie’s Choir additionally received more First Division scores than any other organization that Austin ISD has.
