Ed Sheeran’s drops new album ‘Divide’
March 4, 2017
Pop Singer/Songwriter, Ed Sheeran teased a new album named “Divide” on January 6, 2017.
Ed Sheeran has teased two of his new songs from the album, “Shape Of You” and “Castle On The Hill”. The album includes 14 other songs and will officially release on March 3, 2017.
Ed Sheeran has always had a love for music and songwriting, since the age 13; Sheeran recorded the album “The Orange Room”, which includes 4 songs all sung and written by Sheeran himself in 2005. His next album was made in 2006 and named “Ed Sheeran”, which included 3 songs.
In Sheeran’s new album, his songs “Shape Of You” and “Castle On The Hill” are catchy, upbeat songs that makes you want to sing and dance to each heartfelt line he sings. I look forward to hearing each new song and how popular “Divide” will be.
Sheeran’s second album ,“Multiply” broke Adele’s record of the Top 10 longest charting album in the history of the United Kingdom. Sheeran’s Album includes 24 songs, my personal favorites are “Tenerife Sea”, “I See Fire”, and “Afire Love”. Each song is different and allows the listener to pick between calm and quiet or heartfelt and flashy.
Ed Sheeran has won Grammys both “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance” for his hit song, “Thinking Out Loud”. Ed Sheeran has around 13 albums he is featured in or has made, a total of 83 songs he has written/co-written, and 25 awards ranging from the Grammy’s to Teen’s Choice Award.
In Sheeran’s music video for “Thinking Out Loud”, the music video racked up more than 1.4 billion views on Youtube, and his second greatest hit was “Photograph” racking up 298,702,744 views on Youtube. I believe if Sheeran has songs as popular as “Thinking Out Loud” and “Photograph” in his new album, it will be safe to say that his upcoming album, “Divide” will be a hit and could be just as popular as “Multiply” was/is.
I am excited to see the amount of people who love Sheeran’s new album and how successful this new album will become. I also look forward to hear each song and see how Sheeran draws in each listener.
