Working in the Dispatch has taught me so much throughout my high school career. From the moment I joined the organization, I instantly felt more connected to all my work. From learning photography skills, to learning how to tell stories and write, the Dispatch has molded me into the academic I am today. Before joining, I had very little motivation in my schoolwork. Shortly after joining, I learned how to manage my time, be a leader, and collaborate to create a newspaper. Austin Ikard, was the EIC my first year on staff, and when he took me Gabby and Ryan to film a football game. This was when I really found my interest in the program. Filming hype videos was a fun way to cover our sports teams, and make content for the Dispatch.
To Mr. Reeves: Thank you for letting me join this program and helping me become one of the first three time All State journalists in the class. This program has helped me find my passion and become a better journalist/student. You have helped me so much the past three years, and I am very grateful.
To Cole, Andrew, Nick: Thank you for coming to games with me to film this year. I had fun shooting with y’all and I think we made some cool content. It’s been fun this year to have some other guys in my grade to hang out with.
To Gabby: It’s been an honor. You’ve helped me out a lot the past three years, and I’ve had fun on the Dispatch with you. You don’t get the credit you deserve for the work you did for this publication, and I know you’ll do well in the future.
To Austin: Thank you for helping me in my first year on staff. You helped me grow into a leadership position, taught me so much about camera work, and taught me how to be a leader. Hanging out with you and all of ssslyder wolf was fun, and you quickly became one of my good friends.
To Arlo, Sawyer, Cooper: It’s been a lot of fun having you guys in my classes the past two years. With Arlo, becoming an All State journalist, and Sawyer and Cooper Mastering The Web and social media (plus D1 Hacky Sack), it’s been amazing to watch y’all grow.
To Diego, Gus, and Ben: I hope you all do well next year, or at least make it to class (Ben). You guys have improved so much over the course of this year, and I know y’all will crush it.
