After three years on the publication and weeks of holding off on this letter, it’s officially time for me to say goodbye. I still haven’t fully processed that I am leaving high school, and I know I’m not going to miss much of it, besides The Dispatch. I am beyond grateful for the great teachers I’ve had, the community that The Dispatch offers, and the experiences I’ve had that have shaped me into the person I am and prepared me for my life after high school.
To Mr. Reeves, I am so lucky to have had you as my teacher all four years. You motivate me to push myself and create more products for the program. Your guidance and constructive criticism have made me grow as a person and as a journalist. You’ve taught me so much that I am confident in doing anything, whether that’s making a page, video, podcast, social media post, or helping with the website. I am also grateful for you putting your trust in me to be the editor-in-chief of the online team. Without that, I wouldn’t have built a relationship with most of the people I call my friends. Besides just being a teacher, you’re a great person, and you never fail to make me laugh. I love the weird music you’re blasting in the hallway, your jokes, and your silly outfits. Your dedication to the program really does shine through, Mr. Reeves, and I am honored to have been one of your students.
To Ms.Stiles, you easily became my favorite math teacher I’ve ever had. You made me enjoy statistics, and even just being in your class makes my day. I am so thankful for being your student.
To Claire, Skylar, Sawyer, and Cooper (and Logan, I guess…), I loved working with each one of you. To Claire, I know the website is in good hands since you work it better than I ever did, and you will be a great EIC next year. I loved working with you throughout the year and sharing the stress of the website. If you or Skylar ever need any help, I am just a text away. To Sawyer and Cooper, you guys are the best duo ever, and I loved being able to be your EIC. I will cherish our moments playing hacky sack, imposter, or just doing random things like going on Omoggle deep in my heart. To Andrew, I’m really happy we got to know each other this year. I always had a fun time with you in class, and I wish we had met sooner.
Finally, to the Leadership team, Liberty, Gabby, Elizabeth, Katie, Marissa, and Charlotte. I admire all of you guys for your hard work and dedication to the publication. Thank you, Liberty, for always helping me even through times of stress and giving me ideas to benefit the online side. Gabby, my dearest, there isn’t anyone else I would want by my side. Thank you for doing my dirty work and making videos every issue, working hard on the badges, and being my eye candy every A day. Marissa, you are literally one of the funniest people I know, and you make me laugh so hard. I am so thankful I got to have the newspaper with you every day.
