My name is Quinn Wilkinson. Four years ago, in 2021, I came to Bowie to start my high school journey here. Back then, I was a nervous, timid, and way too quiet kid who barely had the nerves to introduce myself, let alone hold a conversation. Now, I’ve found my own groove, the beat of my drum, so to speak. I’ve learned, I’ve lost, and most of all, I’ve lived. And all of that didn’t happen alone. It happened because of my friends, my family, and my teachers.
To my friends Andrew, Daniel, Eliana, James, Miles, and another fellow Quinn, thank you for having the patience to get to know me. I know I can be stubborn, difficult, impatient, and odd. Without you, I wouldn’t be participating in as many different programs and activities as I am now.
To my mom, thank you for reassuring me and setting me straight every time I wandered from my path. Without you, I’d be lost, wandering the darkness alone and afraid.
To my brother, thank you for always lightening the mood and taking away the pressure to be better and do better. Without you, I’d probably be stuck somewhere far below, unable to even stand back up.
To the wonderful staff at the Dispatch, old, new, former, and incoming, keep doing the best you can for this publication. Try not to get too behind on your work, and talk to your fellow students when you need to. Good luck out there.
