This October 14, South Austin citizens were overjoyed with the opening of a new Cabo Bob’s location. It is located South Mopac Service Road, and they are open 10:30 a.m. to 9:05 p.m. on everyday of the week except Sunday.
In the year 2008, Cabo Bobs was founded by John Stepan and Don and Terri Brinkman. The first ever restaurant is located at 500 E. Ben White Blvd. The company was created to honor the spirit of Cabo Bob.
“Cabo Bob is really the combination of the spirit of many characters I have met through my years of traveling and living in Baja California,” The three founders wrote on their website. ”Cabo Bob became the general term for that person who just has life and his surroundings figured out, he never stresses, he just moves on down the road to a better spot.”
There are plenty of different things to eat at Cabo Bob’s such as a burrito bowl, a burrito, and tacos. If that isn’t what you are looking for, you can also try nachos, or quesadillas. If you are looking for something small, Cabo Bob’s also has a kids menu and an appetizer menu. The restaurant also has treats like their homemade brownies, and their homemade Churro Blondies.
Cabo Bobs offers a lot of different services. It is possible to order online pick up, online delivery and even online catering. For online pickup and online delivery, you are able to order anything from the original menu. For online catering you are able to order ingredients for taco bars, nacho bars, appetizers and desserts.
The meal that I paid for at Cabo Bobs was around $15. It was a steak bowl with white rice and lettuce. When I walked in the restaurant there was a little bit of a line but it only took about 5 minutes for me to get to the front of the line. The workers were really nice there and got my order perfect. I personally really liked this meal because it was simple and really delicious and super filling. I enjoyed how I got to eat some and save the rest for later. I also tried some chips and queso which I also really liked because the chips were really good and homemade, and the queso was good because it kept the temperature pretty well. When you get there they put your meal in a tupperware container so you can leave and take your food with you.
There are so many different options at Cabo Bobs and it is such a great option for “fast” food, that is not super unhealthy. I strongly recommend this restaurant. Next time you are thinking about getting lunch make sure to take a trip to Cabo.
