Westlake takes crown after 48-7 win

The Westlake and Bowie team brace for impact as Bowie prepares to snap the ball against Westlake's defensive line.

Last Friday night, the Bowie Bulldawgs varsity football team took on the Westlake Chaparrals. The Dawgs fought hard but in the end the Chapperals took over and won with a final score of 48-7. Bowie students showed up loud and proud decked out in camo supporting the dawgs at Westlakes home stadium.

HANDS UP: Elizabeth Yowell, Audrey Nixon, and Ellie Nowlin who play Tanya, Donna, and Rosie, dance to the song Money, Money, Money. Newton has been playing lacrosse for five years. “The car raffle will help us pay for balls, pads, equipment, and pay our coaches,” Newton said. “We also need money to go into funding our trips for tournaments.”
Lacrosse begins a drive for support
LIVE PERFORMANCE: This year local artists perform at Mozart’s Coffee Roasters light festival instead of the original light show held annually. Mozart’s has produced a line up of local talent to delight visitors. “I thought the singers were really good,” Hadley said. “I liked that you can walk around and do your own thing and still enjoy the music and lights at the same time.”
