Since the beginning of high school I knew I wanted to write for the paper. Over the past three years I have grown from writing the sports column to becoming a page editor and couldn’t be prouder of my time writing for the dispatch. I would now like to give some thanks to special people in my newspaper career.
My Parents: I’m so appreciative of everything you’ve done for me and for always encouraging me to write what I wanted to write about and reading my stories. Love yall so much.
The readers: To the readers, thank y’all for reading our stories because without yall the paper wouldn’t exist so I thank yall for that.
Mr Reeves: Mr. Reeves, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity you gave me to become sports editor last year and everything you’ve done for me. Your student-led approach to newspapers has made it one of my favorite classes in high school. From talking about sports in fit to talking about music or the news I want to say thank you for everything and I’m glad I was able to have you as my teacher during my time at Bowie.
Past and Present Editors-in-Chief: Thank yall for allowing me to write for the paper and making my page and stories better along the way. I couldn’t have done it without yall and am so appreciative of the paper yall have created in my three years.
Sports Staff: I would like to extend my greatest thanks to the sports staff around me for making the newspaper so fun and for helping push us to make the best page and stories possible. Thank y’all.
I am so excited to start a new chapter in my life and will always cherish the memories the dispatch and the people I met in it gave me.
Yours Truly,
Samuel Vane
