I can’t say that my time at Bowie High School was always enjoyable or even tolerable, but some of my most profound memories were formed within the Dispatch. I got to travel across the country and see a city I’d never see
n before. I gained friends and lost friends, and I learned a lot of things about a lot of things. The Dispatch gave me a sort of autonomy that no other class or program has the ability to offer. The independence and responsibility allowed me to learn and grow throughout my time here.
Where I stand today, I can proudly say that I have outgrown this place and completed the requirements that have kept me here for all these years. To my teachers, I thank you dearly for your persistence and accountability for my education, even when it was difficult for me to continue. To the people who I’ve known in these years, friends or foes, everything happens for a reason, and everything I have gone through in the past four years has led me to becoming the happiest and healthiest version of myself.
Thank you, Bowie, for an outstandingly educational experience.
