Mid-October welcomes theatre’s fall shows. These shows will be the first productions of the year for the STC (Starlight Theatre Company).

“As You Like It, A Midsummer’s Night Dream, The Tempest, and Much Ado About Nothing are this year’s fall shows,” theater teacher Betsy Cornwell said.

In the past, the company has done some of these plays for fall shows before.

“We’ve done Midsummer and Much Ado because those are some of our favorites,” Cornwell said.

Fall shows run two weekends long. The first weekend, October 8 through 11, features Much Ado About Nothing and The Tempest, while productions running the second weekend, October 15 through 18, include As You Like It and Midsummer’s Night Dream.

“The auditions were held the second week of school,” Cornwell said.

Auditions for the shows were held here on campus in the auditorium. The directors chose which actors and technicians would be in which cast and what role they would perform.

“Anybody can audition and everybody who did got casted for a show,” Cornwell said.

The students had to show up at the audition time block they signed up for after school October 31.

“About one hundred and twenty five students auditioned for shows this production block.” Cornwell said.

25 technicians will also be helping out backstage and in the booth during the two weekends of performances.
