On September 23, the Lone Star Dispatch won three national awards by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

Out of 11,000 entries and over 1,000 publications across the nation, only 1,471 awards were won from schools, ranging anywhere from first place to Certificate of Merit, which is similar to an honorable mention.

The entire staff won a Certificate of Merit from Columbia for overall look of the entire paper, or Typography, for the 2014-2015 school year.

Senior Granger Coats won a Gold Circle for his Halloween spread in last years publication, while graduate Elyas Levens won a Certificate of Merit for his Dress Code Editorial.
The Lone Star Dispatch has won multiple Gold Circles from Columbia for the past three years.
