Every Thursday after school the hallways are filled with students leaving their classes and heading home. But if you pay close attention, you can see a variety of people gathering their musical instruments in the A Hall and going into English teacher Jake Morgan’s room.

In there, you will find students of all grades, relaxing and jamming out to music. If that’s playing on their instrument, or just talking about bands they enjoy. The Rock and Roll club brings a way for students to connect with others through musical interest.

“My favorite part of the club is attending, having fun, and playing music with others,” sophomore Vinhny Nguyen said.

The Rock and Roll Club is a place where students can talk and play music of all genres.

“A few of my favorite genres include Alternative, Indie, Shoegaze, and many more,” Vhinny said.

The club began after senior Richard Roberson wanted to meet other students who shared the same musical interests as him.

“I had the idea of making a club but at first there was no leader for it,” Roberson said. “I decided I wanted to make it because no one else would make it.”

After looking for a sponsor for the club, Roberson talked with Morgan who shares the same interest in music. Soon after, the Rock and Roll Club was born.

At first, Roberson was nervous about it, but soon after students began to stop by.

“I am very glad I did it because it’s very fun to watch,” Roberson said. “The people here are now regulars.”

The club meets after school in room A109 where the club meets every Thursday.

“The club is more about how you feel you want to do,” Roberson added.
