Senior starts lawn business to save money for college

When someone is a senior they start to think about college and their future but for Jacob Garcia he already had everything planned out since his freshman year of high school.

Garcia is a senior with big plans. Currently he owns his business of cutting lawns. He got this clever idea one day. It all started when his dad told him to go and cut the lawn of his house and his dad taught him how to.
“I didn’t complain, actually I didn’t mind it I actually liked doing it and little by little I started to get experience and got more into it,” Garcia said.

Afterwards people started noticing that his lawn was looking really nice and the neighbors asked his dad who they paid to cut their lawn.

He responded by telling them he paid nobody and that his son cut it. The people started to get interested and asked if Garcia could cut their lawn so he did.

“At first I only paid $10 to cut it and that’s how I started getting clients,” Garcia said.
Later on clients started to call him saying that they really loved his work and wanted him to come back so he did. Time went by and his dad got the idea of putting up his business on Craigslist so the word could get out there. As soon as his page went up he already had people calling him to get more information.

“He does a really good job and to believe that he is such a young boy and already had his own business is amazing,” one of Garcia’s clients said.

When he would to go people’s houses and talk about prices everyone would always tell him that he was actually pretty cheap. Garcia started to make contracts with his clients so it would be more official. He would come every two weeks to cut their lawns for a certain amount of money.

Every day his company is getting bigger and bigger according to Garcia. Now he even has his own employees and he makes his own money by having another job along with managing his own lawn company.
“When he first came to me I thought that this little boy already has his own business, and trust me he does a great job with my lawn and I still plan to use him later on,” client Jake Navarro said.
He is planning to gather all this money for college.

“When I go to college I wish to work on something that I can be in factories and really getting down to work,” Garcia said.
