Dunne shoots for career
Many people hope to fulfill their lifelong dreams. There are some students on campus currently pursuing them. Senior Audrey Dunne currently strives to become a photographer.
“Ever since I started taking pictures I knew photography was in my future,” Dunne said. “It’s not a hobby; it’s a passion that never dies. I don’t just like photography, I love it.”
Just like any kid, when Dunne was younger she wanted to play with her parent’s things but instead of playing with her fathers tie or with her mom’s make-up she was playing with her parent’s camera.
“I got interested in photography by just messing around with my parents camera that was sitting on the shelf just waiting to be used,” Dunne said. “ I loved taking pictures of people. It just has grown into a passion of mine – to photograph places and people.”
Some students on campus have gotten photo shoots done by Dunne.
“I liked how Audrey made it fun,” senior Danielle Cox said. “She made me laugh which captured a lot of real smiles instead of being posed and fake.”
Many people use their passion for a business, Dunne doesn’t view her photography as a business.
“I don’t really consider my photography as a business because it is a passion of mine,” Dunne said. “When people asked me to take pictures of them and then started offering me money for my pictures I found out that I could make my passion into a profit and it’s something I love.”
Dunne photographs other people along with her self-taken self portraits. Sometimes she becomes the model in front of the camera.
“I like taking pictures with Audrey because she is passionate about her photography,” senior Mercedes Hall said. “Also, when you are the model Audrey makes it fun because she goofy and fun.”
Many people have a back-up plan if their dreams go wrong, and Dunne back up plan includes traveling the world.
“If photography wasn’t the way in my life I would probably just be more invested in my goal to travel and get in to more animal organizations and experiences,” Dunne said. “Another career that I am interested in is animal wildlife rescue. My whole life I have craved to travel and see the world.”
Dunne shows her personality and the world through her photography.
“Everyone needs an outlet in life that lets him or her be who they are,” Dunne said. “Photography is my way of connecting with people and the earth.”
Students are saying to go get pictures done by Dunne because they look like a professional photographer took them.
“I loved my photo shoot with her,” Cox said. “I totally advise people to go to her if they need pictures done. I loved my pictures they looked like something a professional photographer took them. They were great.”
Dunne is fulfilling her dream of photography. Her photography is a passion not a business, she started off young, and is still reaching her goal.
