“The Bulldog Breakdown” is a weekly news brief column that serves as an announcement board for upcoming events and opportunities in the Bowie community. On Mondays, “The Bulldog Breakdown” is published as a preview of the week’s planned activities. On Fridays, “The Bulldog Breakdown” is published again with information about student awards and accomplishments throughout the respective week.

Monday, Nov. 30: First day of classes after November break and COVID-19 rapid tests

Today marks the first day of classes after the November break. In order to ensure the safety and health of students and staff that participate in on-campus instruction, the initial week of learning post break, from Monday, Nov. 30 to Friday, Dec. 4, will be completely virtual. All students and staff that plan on participating in on-campus instruction next week are invited to register for a free COVID-19 rapid test. Monday, Nov. 30: Spanish Honor Society drive for Casa Marianella

The Spanish Honor Society has activated their donation drive for the local non-profit Casa Marianella. A complete list of the requested items can be found on the Spanish Honor Society website. 

Tuesday, Dec. 1: The time is now for seniors to apply for scholarships

The college and career counselor Carli Valverde has shared a few resources seniors can use to find and apply for scholarships throughout the month of December. According to her announcement, student’s Naviance accounts via the AISD Portal and College Board publish the most consistent and reliable information.

Monday, Nov. 30: Boys Basketball game

The Boys Basketball Team will face off against the Round Rock Team at an away game. The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. 

Thursday, Dec. 3: Bowie Swim and Dive meet

The Bowie Swim and Dive team will face off against Westlake at the Austin Swim Club. The meet will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end by 11:30 a.m.

Friday, Dec. 4: Girls Basketball game

The Girls Basketball Team will face off against the Austin High Team at a home game. All teams are currently scheduled to play between 4:15 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 5: Boys Basketball game

The Boys Basketball Team will face off against the Austin High Team at a home game. The game is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. 

Saturday, Dec. 5: Boys Basketball game

The Boys Basketball Team will face off against the Steele Team at a home game. All teams are scheduled to play between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
