The Bulldog Breakdown 11/13: overview of events and student accomplishments in the past week

“The Bulldog Breakdown” is a weekly news brief column that serves as an announcement board for upcoming events and opportunities in the Bowie community. On Mondays, “The Bulldog Breakdown” is published as a preview of the week’s planned activities. On Fridays, “The Bulldog Breakdown” is published again with information about student awards and accomplishments throughout the respective week.

Speech and Debate:

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, Speech and Debate team members Nick Van Lente and Morgan Gonzales qualified for the UIL State Tournament in Congressional Debate. As of now, the state tournament is expected to occur in January of 2021. 

Cross Country:

Junior Nick Manire finished in 16 place out of 120 total runners at the Region IV Cross Country Championship this past week. 

Silver Star Teacher of the Week:

English teacher Patricia Conroy was named the Silver Star’s “Teacher of the Week.” 

Coordinated School Health (CSH) Kick-Off Week:

Friday, Nov. 13 marked the end of the kick-off week of the new Coordinated School Health initiative. The program seeks to increase student and faculty awareness of and commitment to physical wellness, including healthy eating, exercise, and physical self-care. 

National Signing Day:

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, recruited senior athletes officially signed with their respective college teams. The Dispatch congratulates all of the athletes that signed.
