Overall, I really enjoyed watching this show. It showed a life of teenagers going through romance, adventure and so much more. I really need a season two right now because of that ending. They really surprised me with that one and I have a lot of predictions for the hopeful season two. So, if you’re interested in a grand adventure in a tv show, watch Outer Banks on Netflix now!

If you’re talking about a new show on Netflix about a group of teenagers trying to be teenagers and uncover the secrets of a long lost treasure, then you must be talking about the new show that’s got everyone dreaming about the summer during this quarantine: Outer Banks.

The television show is set in North Carolina where the island of Outer Banks is split into two sides: “the Kooks” also known as the rich and “the Pogues” also known as the poor causing conflict because of their differences.

The first season has ten episodes, about 40 minutes long which makes it perfect to watch while social distancing stuck at your home.

My favorite part of the show was that each character had their own backstory and ideas which allowed me to empathize with how the character was feeling and what they were doing. For example, one of the main characters J.J. deals with an abusive father, no mother and only his friends to get him through life. The show works with characters through parent-child relationships and the pressures of wealth and poverty.

Because the season was only ten episodes, it felt a little rushed. The plot was incredibly amazing and interesting that each episode made me want to watch more and more, but when it was all over I had so many questions. There were a few details in the plotline that just kind of disappeared in the show and never came back, leaving the viewers with several thoughts. I wish that they had made the series longer with more episodes and finished all the small details.

For me, I loved the setting of Outer Banks. Living in an urban city, with no port cities this setting made me even more interested in watching because it was something different and new. The show would be nothing without the Pogue’s throwing their annual kegger parties, the boat rides, and surfing.
