Review of new streaming service, Disney Plus
February 6, 2020
Disney has always been a big part of the entertainment industry. Everyone grew up watching movies from Disney like “Finding Nemo,” “Toy Story,” “The Lion King,” and several other movies. On November 12th, Disney released Disney Plus and personally, I was very excited. I loved watching Disney when I was younger and I was so excited to watch all the tv shows from my childhood, especially “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “The Suite Life on Deck,” and most importantly, “Hannah Montana.” When Disney Plus came out, it was sort of unexpected to me that it was only seven dollars per month, to watch shows that I couldn’t find anywhere else.
After a few days of watching Disney Plus, everyone started to talk about Disney Originals which were new shows that Disney would release an episode of every single week and a whole bunch of my friends were talking about High School Musical: The Series. At first, I was like there’s no way they can make a TV-show that can ever measure up to the original High School Musical movies, and I was right.
High School Musical: The Series was possibly one of the best shows that I’ve ever watched and what I loved about is, yes it didn’t compare to the originals but it was different in its own way and I loved it. The production, the plotline, and the actors were all amazing and I would recommend one hundred percent to anyone looking for a funny, interesting and sort of dramatic show.
Besides High School Musical: The Series, Disney Originals has released a few other shows like “The Mandalorian,” “Diary of a Future President,” “Pixel in Real Life,” and a lot more. My favorite part about Disney Plus is that it features so many different genres of movies and tv shows like Marvel, Pixar, 21st Century Fox, Star Wars, National Geographic, and of course, Disney.
Overall, I really like Disney Plus because before it came out a lot of these shows had been taken off of Netflix, or weren’t on Hulu so I could never watch them, but now I can watch them on Disney Plus. I would rate this 7/10 stars because of the variety of genres, the cheaper price, and the new Disney Originals.
If you want to watch your favorite Marvel or childhood Pixar movies, I would definitely get Disney Plus if you haven’t already. It’s a pretty cheap price compared to other streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu and it has a lot of good shows and movies. And.. if you need a good recommendation, the Lion King is a really good movie and to quote Ellen Degeneres, what do you say to Simba when he’s walking too slow? Mufasa!
