The theatre students prepare as they are premier for the fall shows. This year, the show has casted majority freshman, which allows younger students to be ready to take the places of the upperclassmen when they graduate.

This fall, the theatre performs their annual shows. However, this year there are more freshman in the shows, which has not happened previously.

“We usually don’t have this many freshman come into the theatre program, but this year there was a lot of freshman,” junior director Sydney Reinhart said.

Javier Lozana, a freshman in the show, is able to experience performing on the stage as an underclassman and get preparation for what is to come.

“Being a freshman in the show was amazing,” Lozana said. “The experience was very interesting, at times it was very stressful but on the stage that all seemed to melt away.”

Lozana shares a passion for theatre and is inspired by the ability to transform into a new character on the stage.

“I love making a character and performing for people,” Lozana said. “There’ no better feeling in the world then when you’re on that stage and become a new person making someone in the audience feel for the story we’re performing.”

The practice and preparation for fall shows was an opportunity for freshmen to experience the theatre production at Bowie.

“Preparing for fall shows was very hard,” Lozana said. “There were other fall shows going on and we all had to find time for every show to be on the stage rehearsing.”

The theatre was able to perform their show, the American Experience, with hours of practice and determination.

“But through hard work and a lot of inspirational speeches from Mr. Bazan, the show came together,” Lozana said.
