Immobile challenge not disruptive
January 26, 2017
When checking social media, I have noticed a new trend; people stand still in poses, completely silent, while the person filming slowly shows the whole room of people struggling to stay in the same position.
I find this interesting because people can get really creative with their poses and interacting with their surroundings. People have included their pets, children, and props.
Watching celebrities do the challenge is particularly fun to watch because they go over the top and use their fame and money to entertain people. Blac Chyna, Ellen DeGeneres, Adele, and Britney Spears just to name a few, have done this challenge.
This challenge is nicer than the other challenges that have gone viral because they aren’t as obnoxious or dangerous.
The mannequin challenge isn’t half as annoying as someone flipping a partially full water bottle into the air to see if it lands upright, meanwhile making a bunch of noise while doing it.
The challenge brings people together to create creative entertainment. This doesn’t disrupt people much because the mannequin challenge is just made up of no noise and staying still.
I think it would be better to see freshmen doing this rather than bottle flipping, whipping, or dabbing.
Past challenges have been dumb, dangerous, and disruptive, but this one, however, isn’t as dangerous or annoying. It is a dumb challenge like all the others, but it is extremely entertaining.
I myself wouldn’t do this challenge because I usually don’t like to jump onto bandwagons because it isn’t unique.
However, I do enjoy watching others do this because they have interacted with each other and had to think creatively to create, in a way, art.
