Senior Goodbye: Laurel Schultz
June 7, 2021
nce school was shut down because of COVID-19, I realized how much time was wasted in the school day and I found the people who brought me the most joy. It all started in preschool when my now best friends hated me and I later found out they labeled me the “Regina George ” of preschool. We now laugh about it curled up in lawn chairs surrounding a blazing fire talking about everything from friends, to family, TV shows, drama and more.
I can honestly say pandemic life and my life after have been greatly impacted by Amelia and Faith, they are the only people I truly talk to about everything and never feel judged. We really have the perfect three person friendship, the wild blonde, the edgy/ultra smart brunette and the problematic strawberry blonde. We are so close that we can be completely silent at one minute and laughing hysterically the next. Their families have become my families and I don’t know what I would do without the unconditional support and laughter they bring to my life daily.
My most memorable memory with them is having them stay at my house for three days while my parents were out of town. We watched movies, swam, went out to eat and sang all around my house. I think it was the first time I understood what an unconditional friendship looked like and it’s the most amazing thing to have close knit friends. I am thankful for Bowie for bringing our friendship closer than it was before.
