Bowie Football Summer Camps

Avery Shelton, Staff Writer

Over the summer, Bowie is holding a football camp to teach skills to players of all ages and skill-set, and to prepare the incoming freshman for tryouts. Sessions run from July 30 to August 2, and are hosted by football coach Jeff Ables and other Bowie staff members.

During the summer sessions, students are taught endurance, agility and physical skills to improve their game.

The different camps include weight and conditioning, incoming freshman, 7 and 8 grade boys, and the junior camp which is 3 grade to 6 grade.

Throughout the course of the week, and depending on your age and level, drills and scrimmages are held.

Many successful Bowie athletes on the football team attended this camp the summer before freshman year to prepare themselves for the upcoming tryouts.
